Photo Diary | 5 Days in Alicante + Addresses
After 5 days in Barcelona, it was time to relax and to take the flight to Alicante. Sunday afternoon, we arrived at the Melia Alicante hotel, the same where we stayed last week. We had another room than last year, but still sea view and that view is incredible I can tell you.
Before I unpacked my suitcase, I sat on the balcony, to watch the people on the beach and to enjoy this view, which I will never forget. Today, I will share our 5 days in Alicante in a photo diary.
We arrived in the afternoon in Hotel Melia Alicante. We booked a sea view room, just like last year, but another kind of room. It doesn’t matter, we have an incredible view and the first thing I do when we enter the room is to open the door to the balcony and take a deep breath. We are back!
After we unpacked the suitcases, we go for a stroll to have lunch at our favorite spot “Ciao Miami” on the Passeig Esplanada d’Espanya, the boulevard of Alicante with a lot of restaurants and market stalls. I love this boulevard with the palm trees and beautiful buildings.
The lunch is wonderful and then it is time for the beach! I love to swim in the sea, especially here, and I could spend many hours swimming.
In the evening we have a drink at 26 Lounge Cafe at Plaza Portal de Elche. This is one of my favorite corners because of the beautiful buildings and it is a little bit hidden. Across this cafe, you can find another cozy place for a drink, Soho Parc.
We enjoy dinner at the same place where we had lunch, Ciao Miami. We choose the Formaggio salad. Delicious!
I wake up very early and see the beautiful sunrise. I sit on the balcony to watch this wonderful natural phenomenon and feel the relaxation. People take an early morning swim, other people are doing exercises on the beach. Great to start a new day!
We start with a whole full breakfast and then we go into town. I visit the Mango outlet 🙂 and we stop for a drink at a very lovely cafe under century-old trees, Cafe Sotelo.
During an early breakfast, we enjoyed the sunrise. It was just magical!
We take the TRAM to Benidorm to visit my parents-in-law. We make strolls and in the afternoon we go to the beach. Lovely day in a place where we had many holidays a few years ago.
Wednesday + Thursday
Days fulfilled with a lot of sunshine, good food, fashion inspiration in the beautiful boutiques. I discover a new fashion color, pale yellow and I buy a few pieces in the department store El Core Ingles and the Sfera boutique. I will show you my buys in another blog post.
In the afternoon we go to the beach and to the swimming pool of the hotel. Relaxation, reading, swimming, we enjoy every minute of this holiday. Alicante is, besides of Nice, one of my favorite cities by the sea. I love the relaxed atmosphere, the prices are lower and the many opportunities to visit other places.
We made many strolls, enjoyed Nespresso coffee at Magnolia Cafe, and visited the Mercado Central (fresh meat, fish, cheeses..)
We had dinner twice at our favorite restaurant Sale & Pepe Barrio in Calle Munoz, in the old town. We had a table outside in the narrow street. The food is so good and I can highly recommend this pizzeria! The staff is very friendly and I love the place.
Day of departure. We enjoy breakfast, make a short walk and then it is time to go to the airport and say goodbye to Alicante. See you next year!
See you next year!
