I chose this title “Spanish Dream” because I want you to dream along with the Spanish dream. Last year, I spend my holiday in Alicante. Alicante is an perfect holiday destination if you prefer culture and the beach. From my first visit, I call this city “little Barcelona”.
In another blog post I will share my addresses, but now I will let you dream away by the photos which I took last year. Alicante has a old quarter where the time almost has stool still. I love the old houses where the paint-work is peeling off. The blooming flowers in terracotta pots. The shuttered windows…The flapping laundry on the lines…
I love the way of life here. Starting on early mornings with breakfast at a terrace and watching people. Strolling around the city to explore new places. Having lunch at the Passeig Esplanade d’Espanya. Just to enjoy the little things and just be happy!
When the sun is at its highest state, it’s time to increase the pace. Reading a good book in the shade of the ancient trees in the park. Alicante has also interesting museums to visit just like Museo de Arte Contemporāneo de Alicante (modern arts).
Siesta time! The city falls in a languid pace and wake up in the later afternoon, when it’s very refreshing to take a dip in the sea. Alicante has beautiful beaches. One of the largest is beach is Playa del Postiguet.
In the evening it’s lovely to stroll on the promenade Rambla Méndez Nunez, before to head over to one of the many restaurants in the old town. Sometimes it is difficult to make a choice where to eat, because there are so many nice restaurants where you can enjoy the local food! But I love to try one of the restaurants at the Passeig Esplanada d’Espanay.
I can enumerate hundred of things, but these photos will tell you the story!
Enjoy this Spanish Dream!
