Parisienne Diary | 10 Things stop do in Paris when it rains
The weather was terrible I can tell you. It was very frightening to see how high the water in the Seine was!
The rain didn’t stopped. Soaking wet we arrived at the office and hoped every day that it would stop and that the sun would return. And last Friday, the River Seine due to reach 6m (19ft) above its normal level, so it was very critical. I worked from home and watched the news each hour.
But what has the city to offer when it rains? When you book your ticket, you hope that the weather will be sunny without grey skies, but the weather is unpredictable, so I will share my selection of 10 things to do in Paris when it rains!
1o things to do in Paris when it rains
📌 Visit the department stores, like Colette, Printemps , Galerie Lafayette and Le Bon Marche.
📌 Visit museums. I can recommend the less known museum of Paris, just like Musee Carnavalet (history of Paris), Musee Galliera-Musee de la Mode et du Costume (fashion), Musee Montmartre (arts), La Maison du Victor Hugo…When you decide to visit La Maison de Victor Hugo, don’t forget to treat yourself after the visit to delicious pastries at Cafe Carette!
📌 Covered passages, like Passage Verdeau, Passage de Jouffroy, Passage des Panoramas (the oldest passage of Paris!), Galeries Vivienne en Colbert
📌 Watching movies in the theatre. Buy the “Periscope” to see what movies you can enjoy in the little theaters of Paris.
📌 Cafe’s! Enjoy your drink and food and a good book or magazine. For example at Angelina’s in a Belle Epoque decor at they serve delicious chocolate.
📌 Stroll the arcades of the Palais Royale and the rue de Rivoli
📌 Visit the flea market, Marche aux puces, de Saint-Ouen.
📌 Visiting the greenhouses in the Jardin des Plantes, where you can walk through a tropical atmosphere.

The weekend in Amsterdam was awesome. Monday started very smooth and I had a chat with my chief. She was very enthusiastic about my idea for an article about the Nine Streets in Elodie, so, in a couple of weeks, I will take the Thalys to Amsterdam to make photos and to write an article. I am so happy! I send an email to Margot and she was very happy to with the forecast that I will be back soon! Have a lovely weekend my dear readers!
