Citytrip | 5 Days in Nice
And then I was back home again, unpacking the suitcases, doing the laundry. Back to the normal rhythm of daily life and reminiscing the 5 days in Nice… In this photo diary, I will share my story and photos of our city trip to Nice last week. In another blog post, I will share the addresses which I visited this time, so stay tuned!

The plane landed in the afternoon at Nice Airport. The glittering blue sea, the waving palms, the blue sky, the sun, the eucalyptus scents. It didn’t felt like it was eight months ago…
We took a taxi to our hotel and unpacked our suitcases. I stood on the balcony, overlooking the busy Avenue Jean-Medecin and felt happy to be in Nice again! I wanted to enjoy every minute of this city and its surroundings to the fullest!

Promenade du Paillon. A beautiful hotspot in Nice with its fountains and park.
We changed our clothes for exploring the city. Avenue Jean-Medecin is the shopping street with shops as H&M, Zara, shopping center “Nice Etoile” and my all time favorite Galeries Lafayettes. We walked down the street and came at Place Massena, one of my favorite places in Nice. This is the heart of the city with beautiful orange-pink colored buildings. We strolled to the Promenade des Anglais to walk along the sea.
I can’t get enough of this view!

The sun was shining through the window when I woke up early and I felt really happy! In the morning we enjoyed breakfast at a terrace in the sun. Blissful! We walked through the narrow streets of the old town and I had to pinch myself several times 🙂
The croissants are to die for!
Terraces in the sun, narrow sunny streets full of history! I love to admire the activities in these streets and to enjoy the delicious smells coming from the restaurants.
In the afternoon, we headed back to the hotel to take our swimwear to spend some hours on the beach. It was lovely to swim in the azure blue sea and feeling the sun on my face.
This vegetarian pasta with ricotta, spinach, and pesto was delicious!
After dinner, we strolled through the old town of Nice. I love the atmosphere during the evening when the streets are full of golden light.

After breakfast in the sun again we headed to the station and took the train to Monaco. When we arrived, we admired the preparations for the Gran Prix next week! What a work! We climbed the stairs to the old town and the Palais and enjoyed the wonderful view on the port and the apartment buildings. If I love this? It’s nice to see, but Monaco has so much more to offer than the rich & famous “things”: beautiful parks along the sea with a lot of flowers, beautiful sea views, the Musée Oceanographique, the old town and the Jardin Botanique….Enough to do and to see!

Today we decided to spend a whole day in Nice again…We did some shopping, enjoyed a healthy salad at the Place Massena in the sun and spend some hours on the beach again. Staring to the sea. Enjoying the sound of the waves and let my mind run free. I thought about how to continue the book that I am writing and which take also place in Nice for a large part. I felt the relaxation, how happy I was…

Our last day in Nice. I feel a little bit sad about it. I have this feeling each time and I know that I will come back, but it’s hard for me to leave the place which I love and gave me so much pleasure!
We enjoyed our last breakfast in a cafe across the street from our hotel and walked around for a few hours, enjoyed a coffee in the sun at Place du Palais de Justice and discovered a straw bag shop before the taxi came and brought us to the airport.
I love the petit dejeuner in France and especially the baguettes and croissants!
Enjoying the sun and a good book!
Beautiful shop! Do you love straw bags?
Bye bye Nice, see you soon again (hopefully!)
Have you ever been in Nice?
