Parisienne Diary | Paris in August

Dear readers,

How are you? At this moment, the city is boiling hot and the Parisian disappeared. The boulangerie at the corner of the street is closed, the famous “fermeture annuelle“. I love Paris in August. I feel the city is more “mine” and I love to stroll a lot to discover new places which are less crowded at the moment.

Parisienne Diary | The Markets of Provence

Dear readers,

It’s my last week in Provence. I can’t almost believe that time really flies…it’s a pity but we’ve had and still have wonderful days under the Provencal sun. This time I will take you along the markets of Provence.

The days are very hot and I enjoy my early mornings at the terrace and the afternoon in the shade with a good book. I am reading A forgotten summer by Carol Drinkwater. I can highly recommend this book!

The days are passing by slowly. The heat causes us to be very lazy so I have planned a trip to the markets of Provence. My mother and my sister will join me. Tomorrow we will visit the Saturday market in Draguignan and Sunday the market in le Muy.

If you are planning a trip to Provence and would like to visit the many market, pop over here to learn which market is held on which day.

Parisienne Diary | To The Beach

Dear readers,

In my last Parisienne Diary, I told you, that we had the plan to go to the beach. I love the sea, especially during summer. The feeling of sand on your feet, the sun on your face, the scents of sun crème and a new outfit!

This time I choose for a swimsuit instead of a bikini. I love the style, the color and the design. A real classic one from the 50s.

Parisienne Diary | Vintage Summer in Provence

Dear readers,

A new page in the Parisienne Diary | Vintage Summer in Provence, that’s what I will share with you today.

Provence

Where I am now? I am in Provence, in the little village of Aups. We are staying here for twee weeks and I am so happy with this prospect! We live in the family home of my grandparents. It’s the idyllic Provence story. An house in the valley, surrounded by olive and pine trees and bougainvillea. A pool in the garden and a large wooden table in the shade of the trees where we have breakfast and dinners for hours.

Parisienne Diary | The Best Rooftop Terraces of Paris

Dear readers,

Paris is wonderful from above. To feel the city at your feet. To admire how the city is really built with her long avenues and wonderful buildings.

For Elodie, we had a photo shoot on a rooftop terrace. The whole idea was that the models were served a delicious lunch at beautifully laid tables overlooking Paris.  That view will never bored I can tell you! This time, I assisted with the outfits and thought some poses for the models. It was a really fun job to do instead of working a whole day in the office.

I was exhausted after that day, but that did not spoil the fun. I promised my friends that we will visit the rooftop terraces more often during the summer months. It’s lovely to enjoy a drink or a good meal with an incredible view! During this moments, I realize, how lucky I am, to live and work in this wonderful city, that gives me so much opportunities.

Talking about opportunities…you know that my dream is to open a little vintage store. Yesterday, I was walking to a client for a little interview, and then I saw the store….It was in Marais, not far from the Place des Vosges. And it was for sale… When I returned from my meeting, I looked immediately on the internet for the photos. It was just perfect! But the price… I have to go to my accountant to talk about the financial things…it’s not my thing, but I have to when I would like to fulfill my dream!
