10 Reasons Why I love Amsterdam
I realized, that it is a long time ago, that I published an article about Amsterdam. Since my childhood I love to go to Amsterdam and I regularly visit this city accept last year. Only two times! Each time I am in this wonderful city, I have the intention to visit it more, to walk along the canals and enjoy sights of the canals
So would like to share 10 reasons why I love Amsterdam.
Even when it rains, Amsterdam is a wonderful city to visit. Although I do love sunny days, sometimes a city is very pretty when the rain is pouring down.
The canals. I can walk for hours along the canals, to discover new streets and boutiques and admiring the houses full of history!
The bags museum: “Tassenmuseum Hendrikje”. I have visited many times because I am an huge bag lover! It is interesting to learn about the history of bags and the museum also organize temporarily exhibitions. Definitely worth visiting! (Herengracht 573)
The Nine Streets (“9 straatjes”). Need I say more? When I am walking through these 9 nine streets, it feels that I am walking in Paris. The little boutiques, the cafe’s, very inspiring!
To plan your visit, you can read here more about these cute streets.
When I am in Amsterdam, it feels almost that I land on another planet. It is very international but in some areas I got the feeling I am in a village. I love this versatility in once city.
My favorite spot in Amsterdam is the view from the bridge “Papiermolensluis” at the corner of the Prinsengracht and Brouwersgracht. You have an incredible view on the canals and Café Papeneiland, an authentic Amsterdam café since 1642!
When I am alone in Amsterdam, I often enjoy fries for lunch. I will share my “secret” address for the best fries in town (in my opinion!): “Frietsteeg”, Heisteeg 3
During sunny days I love to sit on the bench at the “Spui” surrounded by bookshops and cafe’s watching people.
My favorite shopping street is the “Haarlemmerdijk” with a variety of (vintage) shops, cafe’s and restaurants.
